Istanbul – Amsterdam
We will meet at the international departures terminal of Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport three hours before the flight to complete our ticketing and baggage procedures. Our flight to Amsterdam with Pegasus Airlines’ scheduled service will take approximately 3 hours and 40 minutes. Following our arrival in Amsterdam, we will set out to explore the city. Known for its history, cultural riches, canals, museums and vibrant atmosphere, Amsterdam is one of Europe’s most cosmopolitan cities and also stands out among other European capitals for its liberal lifestyle. In this youthful city, many events, festivals and concerts are held throughout the year, while it is also filled with galleries, museums and exhibitions displaying classical and modern works of art. During our Amsterdam tour, the Damrak, the city’s most popular square, the Royal Palace, one of the official residences of the Dutch royal family, and the Oude Kerk (Old Church), the oldest church in Amsterdam, will be among the places we visit. After free time for shopping and dining, we will depart for our hotel in the evening, followed by free time to relax.
Amsterdam - Marken & Volendam - Zaanse Schans
After breakfast, we begin our Marken & Volendam - Zaanse Schans tour. As we explore Marken and Volendam, where we can best observe the traditional Dutch way of life, you will be deeply impressed by their natural beauty and colorful houses lined up one after another. The residents of the village of Marken, who once made their living from fishing, changed their way of life after the island became a tourist destination and was connected to the mainland by a bridge, with handicrafts and the production of traditional clothing becoming widespread. The houses built on stilts to prevent flooding are still preserved today. We will reach Volendam, which is much larger than Marken, via a short journey across the bridge. In the region, which is home to various cheese producers and cheese-tasting workshops, we will visit a cheese producer and learn about cheese production. After some free time for shopping, we will depart for Volendam. In this beautiful town, where famous artists such as Picasso and Renoir stayed for short periods in the 20th century, you can see many locals walking around in traditional clothing. While exploring the town, where fishing still continues to some extent, you will be able to see historic fishermen’s houses, museums, and workshops and shops where handicrafts are made. You will have time for lunch in Volendam, which stands out for its traditional cuisine. After visiting these two beautiful villages, we continue our tour toward Zaanse Schans Theme Park, where we will spend half a day. This open-air museum, located in the town of Zaandam, was created to reflect the region’s rural life and industrial activities in the 18th and 19th centuries. Famous for its working windmills, the area reflects the Netherlands’ past to its visitors with its wooden houses, workshops, and warehouses in the traditional architectural style. After some free time in the town, which also fascinates visitors with its natural beauty, we will return to Amsterdam. Following free time for dinner in the city, we will meet at the time determined by our guide and depart for our hotel for accommodation, with free time to rest.
Amsterdam – Bruges - Brussels
